We recommend children should attend a minimum of three sessions, as helps children to develop a trusting relationship with their key carers.

The Orchard Room is open 50 weeks per year. The Nursery will be closed during the last week in August and one week between Christmas and New Year. We are also closed for five staff development days throughout the year and all statutory public holidays.

If you are interested in applying for a day place we would encourage you to come and look around the environment and meet with the staff. We have regular ‘show-round’ sessions, which can be booked over the phone or at our reception. We will provide you with an application pack containing further information.

We have set aside several spaces in the Orchard Room for children receiving 2 year old free entitlement funding. Forty percent of 2 year olds are eligible for 2 year old free entitlement funding the term after they become 2 years old.  To see if your child meets the criteria for the funding please click here. Information about how to apply is also available through the link.

We have two different options available for children using the 2 year old funding.

Sessions are as follows (term-time only):

Mornings

Monday – Friday 8:45am – 11:45am

Afternoons

Monday – Friday 12:45pm – 3:45pm

If we do not have space for your child on the sessions you have requested, we will try and offer you alternative sessions.  If you are unhappy with the sessions you have been given, you can remain on the waiting list.

Children’s funding starts at the beginning of each term but your child can start at any point during the term.  Children’s start dates are given when a place becomes available.

There are no additional charges of deposits or administration fees.  However, if you would like your child to attend any additional sessions you will be charged for these sessions and are required to pay a deposit.  Please note these sessions are not term-time only.  You will be invoiced for these sessions a month in advance and are payable on the 1st of each month.  Full details can be found on the contract or alternatively, you can speak tour friendly reception staff.

If you would like further information about funding or support to complete your application please speak to the Family Information Services Assistants who are based in our Children’s Centre daily, between 9.00am and 5.00pm. Alternatively you may speak to any of our Admin Team, who will be able to help answer any questions you may have.  Further information is also available on www.westsussex.gov.uk/freechildcare.

To apply, please find our Orchard Room Application Form on our home page in the top right-hand corner. The application can be completed and submitted online, alternatively this can also be printed and returned to us.
